This was an experiment in trying to capture the edge of night, and still keep some detail on the subject using a fire's glow for the light source. I did this painting back in June and hesitated blogging it because of my being all over the page with experiments, having no real recognizable style of my own, and it didn't fit that month's theme: I now realize that is why I started this blog; namely, to experiment. So here it is, along with a few others that escaped being blogged, they now have their day: this blog contains both my victories and defeats in my quest to paint one a day.
