The Mora River is more creek than river, though it flows year round and is always subject to paint. Larger paintings allow so much more detail, they always look good shrunken down to this size. This is a larger size painting for me and was done earlier this year. Oil on linen 20.00" x 30.00" email jon@jonconkey.com to buy.
A "Journal of Paintings" by Jon Conkey, Themeworks was a "one-year-long" record of my progress in the art of "oil painting", and an attempt to paint 365 paintings in one year. Changing the monthly theme allowed me to focus on subjects I may not have otherwise painted. As an artist, I was looking for discovery and breakthroughs in my works through this daily practice.

Superb! Thanks for this one, Jon.
Beautiful!
I love it! It looks so real almost like a photograph...
One of your best, photographic light, but painterly strokes. A+++++
David your welcome!
Cara, I love the word beautiful!
Angela, I liked that DEVO suit you wore when you painted your mural. Cheers!
Wm, Amazing what I can come up with when I have more time, that one took longer, is bigger, and I used some stand oil and sable brushes to get those strokes to smooth out,(something I need to do more of); do you think I can trade the A+++++ for A$$$$$?
